This is the website of Jon Tamm, a Boulder-based painter. Tamm creates Colorado art en plein air. Much of his work is comprised of landscapes and scenes in Colorado. He will venture into the Rocky Mountain National Park to paint the mountains, rivers, creeks, and waterfalls. His nature scenes in the mountains capture the essence of the Rockies and define Colorado art.
As a Boulder resident, he also likes to paint some of Boulder’s icons. He has painted Chautauqua and the Boulder Flatirons in many seasons and has put all of its features and minutiae onto canvas with his oils.
Jon’s outdoor painting style makes honest and striking Colorado art. Standing in natural light, in the true natural environment gives his eye an edge over painting from memory.
Jon also enjoys still-life painting. Most of his still-life paintings capture quaint mornings filled with tea and simple breakfasts. Bouquets of flowers in vases are iconic in Jon’s work, along with ornate, china pots and tea cups.
